If they lock the feature where it tells you on the lockscreen estimated charge time remaining to the latest iPhone I won't even be surprised, I'd just laugh honestly.

Possible. But still think any kind of Apple Intelligence feature is not enough to make up for the small battery of the Air.

Yeah, I had a similar thought. Use more power to maybe squeeze out a few more minutes of use under an extreme situation (literally running down the battery) that few will ever experience or even notice. And showing an ETA to charged does not require “AI” anywhere else, why here?

If true, this may be one of those features apologists will try to justify as “tiny efficiency improvements over millions of devices add up” even if no individual user actually gives a crap.

Depends where they run the model.

Technically you can write off a simple inference network made out of if statements as an AI.

I suspect this will be a few tens of megabytes of model data or something running in the NPU. Total ****ing waste of time and space.
