Apple has advised manufacturing partner Foxconn to increase production of iPhone 14 Pro models due to strong demand for the devices, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

"Due to strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro models, my latest survey indicates that Apple has asked Hon Hai to switch the production lines of the iPhone 14 to the iPhone 14 Pro models," said Kuo in a tweet today. Foxconn is formally known as Hon Hai.

Kuo said Foxconn will convert some of its iPhone 14 assembly lines to iPhone 14 Pro assembly lines as a result of the move, adding that the conversion will be equivalent to about a 10% increase in the shipment forecast of iPhone 14 Pro models. The analyst noted this will help to increase the average selling price of iPhones in the fourth quarter.

In the United States, most iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max configurations ordered today on Apple's online store are estimated for delivery in mid-October or later, while the standard iPhone 14 is more readily available. iPhone 14 Plus launches October 7 and currently remains available for delivery on that date.

Key new features of iPhone 14 Pro models include the Dynamic Island, an upgraded rear camera system that can shoot 48-megapixel ProRAW photos, an always-on display option, a faster A16 Bionic chip, new Deep Purple and Space Black color options, and more.

I wasn't planning on buying a new phone all year.
Then on the launch day I went straight to the store and bought one.

iPhone Pro Max - go all in.... screw everything 😂
If I'm going broke, I might as well go in style.

Anyways, I come form 11 Pro Max to 14 Pro Max, I wanted to consider the non-Pro line-up but once used to being spoiled it's hard to go lower....
I know.... the recipe for financial issues..... but I do it once every 3 years.

These two are almost the same

I don't really upgrade phones that often.... I should have carried over 1 more year the Pro Max.
I just got a great deal at the Phone provider based on my subscription and I could sell my 11 Pro max at a good price.

So in the end I didn't spend that much.

I am enjoying though the refresh rate, the better camera and the new battery - (iPhone pro max had like 84%)

Good marketing strategy by Apple to make the price gap so minimal between the pro and 14 (or 14 plus). I would spend my money on the pro max any day because of its much better specs!

I had the 14 PM and I just returned it yesterday. I only ordered the phone because the always on display was going to be useful to me as a night stand clock. That idea got wrecked once I realized their always on display isn't always on. Apple issued a statement of scenarios where the AOD would be turned off. One reason being it will turn off after xxx minutes/hours of user inactivity.

It sure would have been nice if Apple would have advertised this information before I ordered the device. Needless to say I went back to my 13 Pro Max and my wallet is $1200 lighter again.

Interesting news.
A further question is also: does the AoD move the activated pixel in some way to prevent burn in?

Overall I think the AoD is a really poor design by apple as it’s simply a dimmed homescreen without any further options. The implantation of the AoD on a lot of android phones Is way better, more customisable and as it seems a real AoD while it’s not always on on the iPhone.

The standard 14 reminds me of the iPhone 5c. In both cases, Apple essentially repackaged last year’s phone and the tried to convince everyone it was a brand new phone. Consumers weren’t fooled in either case.

If only the 5c was like the 14.

The former was garbage from the start: underpowered, crappy build quality, subpar battery life. The 14 is just a rebranded 13 Pro without ProMotion.

My 4g plan is around $35 USD per year, how much is your 5g plan to “get a good 14 pro max deal”?

The 5C sold very well. I remember being at uni at the time and everyone who didn’t have the 5S,6, and 6S during those times had the iPhone 5C. It helped Apple regain customers who were starting to shift towards Samsung and at the time HTC.
It was quite possibly the 1st iPhone that appealed and was affordable to those on a lower budget.

No surprise. This happens every year. People want the Pro models with the telephoto lens and all the new features. Especially if somebody's only upgrading once every 2-4 years, they want the latest and greatest to last the longest. Not the half-baked upgrade.

It's the same reason the mini wasn't more successful. People want the Pro features. With all the carriers financing phones over 24-36 months, it's only an extra couple bucks a month to choose a Pro over the non-Pro, so it's really a no brainer. Apple should just dump the regular models and make three models with the same features: 5.4" or 5.6", 6.1", and 6.7".

I’m at inexpensive plan too ($25), and I don’t get all the great trade in deals either :(

Oh well…
